Instagram link stickers:
Instagram has finally launched its much anticipated feature, link stickers! Link stickers are now available to all users.
Why does this matter?
Before the link sticker was added, only users with 10K followers could add third-party links to their story meaning that the average user could not drive traffic to their own websites or any third-party links. This new feature is one that was highly requested by small businesses and growing creators who worked hard to find ways around this to expand their following and grow their businesses.
The link sticker looks similar in appearance to Instagram’s Location and Music sticker icons. To access a link in someone’s story, simply tap on the icon and it will take you to the source of the link. Unlike the “swipe up” feature, the link sticker allows viewers to react and reply to stories that include a link sticker – opening up more opportunities for engagement if you link to your website or your own Instalinks page.
To encourage users to interact with your link, enhance your link sticker with eye-catching story features, such as the use of bold and colourful text or dynamic GIFs.
Instagram’s “Add Yours” sticker:
Another brand new feature added to Instagram Stories is the “Add Yours” sticker. By creating viral content chains on stories, this feature is a new and exciting force for community engagement.
Based on a prompt shared by a user, you add your own media that corresponds or is similar to the prompt. This sticker can be added to Instagram Stories for users to enter a custom prompt that the community can then interact with and contribute to. The audience simply presses on the sticker to share it to their own stories, swiping up to add media from their album.
The account name of the original creator of the prompt always appears on the shared sticker, so when a user shares an “Add Yours” sticker to their story your account will be recognized as the original creator of the thread.
The “Add Yours” sticker allows brands and creators to increase brand awareness in a fun, organic way, by allowing them to directly engage with and grow their target audience by identifying and sharing in their interests and/or shared experiences.
