Digital Marketing Specialist (SEO + Social Media)

Our team is growing, and we’re hiring a Digital Marketing Specialist (SEO + Social Media) who will be responsible for handling various SEO, social media, and digital marketing tasks for various clients in diverse industries/sectors.

Duties:

  • Develop and implement SEO strategies to improve organic search rankings
  • Produce engaging and relevant content for various social media platforms
  • Monitor and analyze website and social media metrics to gauge campaign effectiveness
  • Conduct thorough keyword research to guide content development
  • Plan, execute, and manage social media campaigns across multiple channels
  • Develop and implement strategies for acquiring high-quality backlinks
  • Analyze competitors’ SEO and social media strategies to identify opportunities
  • Keep up with the latest digital marketing trends and best practices

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, business, or design or equivalent life/work experience.
  • Experience in SEO and social media management (ability to demonstrate a basic understanding of the concepts and how to work with them)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior organization skills for detailed, timely, and accurate project coordination
  • Familiarity with industry-standard digital marketing tools and applications
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure

As a member of the team, you can expect:

  • Starting wage of $16.50/hour, renewing at $18.50/hour after three months

  • Flexible work conditions with required in-office attendance in the north end of Halifax
  • Potential for full-time, permanent employment after the initial three-month contract
  • The three-month contract counts as a probationary period if the position is renewed.
  • In your first year you can expect up to 13 paid holidays/observances, 2 weeks paid vacation, paid personal days, and bonus paid vacation in late December.
